The Dallas Mavericks have arrived in the Western Conference but if there were tiers, they remain right on the edge of the second one. Luka Doncic is banged up and this will make it difficult for Dallas to make it out of the first round – let alone make a deep run.

We have seen the Mavericks remain aggressive in recent offseasons and this year will be no different. Since making a deal for Doncic on draft night in 2018, the Mavericks have been looking to build around their perennial MVP. Bojan Bogdanovic is the type of player that can fit any scheme and this includes in Dallas.

There could be some changes coming. Jalen Brunson is entering free agency at the end of the year and has made himself some money with his performance this season.

Tim Hardaway Jr. could be thrown into trade rumors because of his contract situation and injury history. If there is a need on the perimeter, Bogdanovic can step right in.

Bogdanovic is used to playing with impact performers and that is exactly what Doncic is. It is likely that Bogdanovic will want to play with a contender and the Mavericks are right there. He could be a piece that helps get them over the top.
