The disappointments of 2021-22 have been well-documented for the New York Knicks. It would be impossible to view their NBA season as anything less than a failure.

After entering the 2020-21 playoffs as the fourth seed, they failed to make the play-in tournament. Julius Randle’s leaguewide perception slipped from “superstar” to “maybe a second option”. The sky fell. The organization is now tasked with picking up the pieces.
