Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, F Jonathan Kuminga, 2023 First-Round Pick (GSW), 2026 First-Round Pick (GSW)
Golden State Warriors Receive: G Damian Lillard
Here, the Portland Trail Blazers receive a higher risk, higher reward package than the one previously outlined. For a rebuilding team, that may be preferable.
Jonathan Kuminga is raw, but he’s flashed tremendous potential during his rookie season with the Golden State Warriors. He’s significantly less proven than Poole, but with his physical profile, he also has significantly more potential.
The Blazers also receive an extra draft pick here. If the Warriors are intent on keeping Poole, that’s a premium they’ll have to pay here to do so.
They may not be. Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Klay Thompson may be able to co-exist, but Poole may be overkill. That is, obviously, a lot of starting caliber guards for one team. At the same time, if we view Thompson as the team’s starting small forward, it’s easier to envision Poole in a sixth-man role.
