Boston Celtics Win Series in Six Games
Though the Brooklyn Nets are more formidable than their seed suggests, they likely don’t think they have enough to beat the Boston Celtics, especially considering Boston’s tear.
Boston has played like the best team in basketball since January. Though Robert Williams’ injury could be a factor, they still have the defensive schemes and offensive talent to outlast the Brooklyn Nets.
Expect the Nets to win one or two (maybe even three) games in this series. The duo of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will be impossible to keep quiet for four straight games — they’ll be combining for 50 on even quiet nights but could explode for 80+ as Kyrie, and LeBron James did in the 2016 Finals.
The Celtics’ only loss to Brooklyn this season came in November, well before their run of dominance began. Expect Boston to carry their end-of-year run into the postseason and handle Brooklyn en route to a match-up with the Milwaukee Bucks, serving as a de-facto Eastern Conference Finals.
