Kyrie Irving Will Shine Against Former Team
Even though he’ll get a ton of attention from the Boston Celtics’ defense, expect Kyrie Irving to continue to shine as he did in the Play-In game.
Kyrie Irving scored 34 points on 12-of-15 shooting in the Nets’ Play-In win, tacking on 12 assists in the effort. Irving showed his superstar quality in the game, sinking tough shots and setting up teammates for easy dunks.
Though the Celtics will be able to put a stout defender like Jaylen Brown on Irving, expect the hot streak to continue. Irving is a player that teams can’t stop – they can only hope to contain him. And though the Celtics are well equipped to do so, Kyrie’s proven playoff prowess will shine regardless.
Irving has extra motivation heading into the series, as he spent a brief period with the Celtics – a stint that ended in rocky fashion. Since then, Irving has had it out for Boston, culminating in a moment where he stomped the Celtics’ logo at mid-court after a game.
