Utah Jazz Receive: F Michael Porter Jr., 2024 First-Round Pick (UTA), 2027 First-Round Pick (UTA)
Denver Nuggets Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
The Denver Nuggets were heavily compromised this season. Given the circumstances, their 48-34 finish qualifies as an accomplishment. Much of that success can be owed to the dominance of MVP candidate Nikola Jokic.
When the Nuggets are healthy, he’s flanked by Canadian scoring guard Jamal Murray in the backcourt. That combination of a playmaking big and a scoring guard cane unstoppable at times.
What about a playmaking big and two scoring guards?
Of course, Donovan Mitchell’s services will come at a cost. Michael Porter Jr. has struggled with injuries throughout his young NBA career, but he’s looked the part of a potential star when he’s been healthy. A 6’10 wing with a ridiculously smooth jump shot, Porter Jr. could be the central piece in a deal that lands the Nuggets another superstar.

The Nuggets may be apprehensive to acquire Mitchell until they’ve got a clearer picture of his mindset. Rumors suggest that he might want to play in a bigger market: the Mile High City may not qualify.
If those rumors have more smoke than fire, the Nuggets could be an appealing destination for Donovan Mitchell. A core group of him, Jokic, and Murray would put them on par with any team in the NBA.
As for the Jazz, they jumpstart their rebuild with a young star and two first-round picks. They might not be done making deals, either.
