New Orleans Pelicans
Just like the New York Knicks, Cam Reddish has a college connection to the New Orleans Pelicans. The biggest star in college basketball during his time was Zion Williamson, who led the big three at Duke. Reddish could reunite with Williamson if this deal is made.
The Pelicans finished ninth in the West this season. Despite being 10 games under .500, this was a huge jump for a team that struggled to find a future plan – and they did it without Williamson.
The Duke product continues to recover from an injury but is still part of the long-term plan. This trade would make a lot of sense for the Pelicans outside of the emotional connection.
Reddish would improve the bench immediately. The depth of the New Orleans Pelicans has been something in question this season and is a reason they are still not where they want to be.

On the other hand, New Orleans has improved because of Brandon Ingram, the emergence of Devonte’ Graham, and of course the trade for CJ McCollum. This is what truly helped the New Orleans Pelicans step their game up.
If the Pelicans were to make a deal for Reddish, they would not have to move any significant pieces. Williamson, Ingram, and McCollum would remain in place. The New York Knicks could ask for the likes of Josh Hart or Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and draft capital, but would not have leverage if they wanted a bigger name.

This means the New Orleans Pelicans would only improve in this deal rather than mortgage the future. Do not be surprised to see the Pelicans remain aggressive and target Reddish if he is still available.
