These 3 Teams Should Monitor Trade For Knicks’ Cam Reddish

Once again, the New York Knicks remained quiet at the NBA trade deadline. What they did do was acquire Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks for a package that included a first-round pick.

It was a bit surprising to see the Knicks immediately flip Reddish in other trade rumors.

New York gave up a first-round pick to acquire Reddish and pair him with his former college teammate RJ Barrett. Why would the front office want to move him right away? Maybe they thought they could get more than they gave away but that seems unlikely, especially when he struggled to crack the rotation.

During his coaching career, Tom Thibodeau has been known to play his stars and use them for big minutes on a nightly basis. Reddish did not find himself in the fold and this made Knicks fans scratch their heads.

Cam Reddish played 15 games for the Knicks during the second half of the season and scored 6.1 points in 14.3 minutes per night. This is not the way to figure out if Reddish is a fit or not.

After the rumors have swirled in the second half, the Knicks might still be looking to move Reddish. They should be going in the other direction and making him a big piece coming off the bench but who knows what is happening within the franchise.

What we do know is that we will never hear the owner or general manager make a statement. Anyway, Reddish has the size and shooting ability to excel at the next level if he is given a chance.

This now marks two teams, the Knicks and Atlanta Hawks, that did not give Cam Reddish a chance to play extended minutes. These three teams could provide that opportunity and should monitor Reddish’s availability this offseason.
