Miami Heat
The Miami Heat clinched the best record in the Eastern Conference. And with the playoffs just around the corner, we’ll learn soon enough if they have what it takes to win it all this season.
If they don’t, based on how they’ve performed so far this campaign – you would assume that their championship window stays open for at least another run. It could be that they’re only a couple of reinforcements away from truly getting over the hump and capturing a championship.
This is why Evan Fournier’s situation makes perfect sense for the Heat to monitor. This potential trade would be dependent on matching salaries – and the level to which the Heat may value Duncan Robinson this off-season. Much like Fournier, Robinson has struggled for consistency ever since his breakout showing in the 2020 Bubble.
Robinson was rewarded with a five-year, $90 million deal by the Heat last summer, the largest contract in NBA history for an undrafted player. Yet this season has seen his numbers nosedive and Robinson even out of the rotation at times.

Averaging only 10.9 points per game, on 40.0 percent shooting from the field, and 37.2 percent from distance. The Heat may look to cut their losses with Robinson if he underperforms once again in the post-season.
On similarly money and possessing comparable shooting ability – Evan Fournier could prove to be a viable replacement for Robinson in South Beach. The Heat would be hoping that Fournier’s experience makes him a better fit – and allows him to gel quickly with their veteran team.

Whilst the Knicks will hope that Robinson rediscovers the shooting touch of two seasons ago. Proving to be a spark for their middling team.
