The postseason has sadly not been as fruitful for the franchise, and as a result, we may see them move on from their defensive anchor Rudy Gobert.
Gobert has been one of the best centers in the league during his time in Utah. In his nine seasons with the franchise, Gobert has averaged a double-double with 12.4 points and 11.6 rebounds, to go along with 2.2 blocks per game – a mark good enough for fourth in the league since 2014.
The French center has also won Defensive Player of the Year honors three of the past four seasons. An intimidating presence inside, Rudy Gobert guarantees that any team he’s part of will have elite rim protection. Due to the Jazz’s postseason struggles, though, it may be time for the franchise to ship Gobert to another team.

Gobert is a valuable asset from a trade standpoint, and would likely net the Jazz a spectacular return. Not only is Gobert an incredible player, he is also in the first year of a five-year contract, meaning any team that acquires him will have him for the long haul.
According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, the Dallas Mavericks have already stated that they would have “significant interest” in acquiring Rudy Gobert via trade. Gobert would be a congruent pick-and-roll partner to Luka Doncic, so the fit makes plenty of sense.
