Should he become a free agent, the only team in my mind that has a real chance at pursuing James Harden away from the Philadelphia 76ers is the Miami Heat.
Never underestimate the powers of Pat Riley and the Heat’s front-office, especially after they were able to convince LeBron James to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh years back!
The Miami Heat are always “big game hunting” when it comes to free agency and offseason trades and while they have one of the best rosters in the league right now, this season will be viewed as a failure by Riley and his front-office should the Heat fail to advance past the Eastern Conference Finals.
With that being said, there is no telling to what the Miami Heat could have up their sleeves.

While there has been speculation that the team could look to move Duncan Robinson to bring in another high-level talent, it is also possible that they could make a sign-and-trade for James Harden work, giving up veteran guard Kyle Lowry in the process.
The 76ers pursued Lowry when he was with the Raptors last season and could still have interest in pairing Kyle Lowry with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey should Harden decide that he wants to leave Philadelphia in the offseason.
Miami is one of the biggest “party cities” in the nation, which is appealing to James Harden’s personality, and teaming up with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler makes the Miami Heat a much better contender than they already are.
