#3 New York Knicks
James Harden was just with the Brooklyn Nets and it was said that he did not enjoy the income tax that many New Yorkers tend to hate as well, which could be a reason for him to stay away from the New York Knicks should he become a free agent.
However, the Knicks have a clear cut need for a point guard heading into the offseason and from New York’s perspective, there is nothing better than “sticking it” to the Philadelphia 76ers!
With the New York Knicks, Harden would inherit a young, growing team that already has two solid star-like players on their roster in Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett.
Being “the guy” in Madison Square Garden, James Harden could find a ton of success with the Knicks and be the player he was with the Rockets instead of being the No. 2 guy like he was in Brooklyn and like he is now in Philadelphia next to Joel Embiid.

Will the Knicks sign James Harden in free agency?
No they will not and he will not want to go there, but the fit definitely makes sense given what James Harden wants his role to be and given the New York Knicks need for a leader at the point guard position.
