Continuing to try and build around Bradley Beal in the offseason, the Wizards are going to be open for business and looking for ways to add another star-like talent to their roster. 

The emergence of Kyle Kuzma this season is definitely a welcoming sign for this franchise, as is Kristaps Porzingis being healthy and playing well, which is why now is the time for them to make a big move. 

Washington is not going to have a ton of cap space in the offseason to operate with, making it tough to bring in Rudy Gobert’s $38.1 million contract for the 2022-23 season, but they could possibly make things work if they were to leverage Kyle Kuzma right now. 

At 26-years-old, Kuzma has proven to be a dual-threat forward in this league that can score either in the low post or out on the perimeter. Not to mention, his playmaking abilities have definitely raised some eyebrows around the league this season and he could end up being a key fit next to Donovan Mitchell in Utah.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Rui Hachimura could also be dealt in a trade for Rudy Gobert, as they will both be entering the final years of their respective contracts in the offseason. 

The Wizards need to make a big move if they are to become a true playoff threat in the Eastern Conference and while it would cost them a handful of depth, forming a “Big 3” with Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, and Rudy Gobert could be very intriguing in a loaded Eastern Conference.
