Detroit Pistons
Players Out: Jerami Grant (Calf), Hamidou Diallo (Finger), Chris Smith (Knee)
The Detroit Pistons have eclipsed 40 wins in a season just once since the 2016-17 season and it seems like they have been rebuilding for quite some time now.
While they definitely are not “tanking” per se, the Pistons did recently announce that star forward Jerami Grant would miss the remainder of the season with a calf strain, as would Hamidou Diallo with a left index finger avulsion fracture.
Cade Cunningham and Saddiq Bey still remain in action for the Pistons, as does big man Isaiah Stewart.
Currently tied with the Rockets and Magic for the least wins this season, the Pistons are almost guaranteed to end up with a Top-5 pick in this year’s draft even though they have been playing some solid basketball as of late.

Detroit has gone a respectable 7-10 since the All-Star break and has shown glimpses into their full potential heading into the 2022-23 season.
Cade Cunningham looks like a potential All-Star talent for this team and with Saddiq Bey showing his scoring potential on the outside by recently going for a career-high 51 points, the future is definitely bright for this young Pistons organization.
While they have yet to shut everyone down and “embrace the tank” like other teams in the league, it would not be surprising to see the Pistons come up with injuries for Cunningham, Bey and Stewart the last few games or so.

Getting them more experience together may be appealing to the Pistons, but they definitely do not want to risk one of their key players getting hurt at the end of the season and potentially causing them to miss games at the start of next year.
