San Antonio Spurs

Like the Orlando Magic, the San Antonio Spurs are rebuilding right now and currently searching for their identity moving forward.

Dejounte Murray emerged as a first-time All-Star this season and Keldon Johnson is another young, high-level talent that they have, but the Spurs look like they are still several pieces away from being a real playoff threat in the Western Conference again.

Lonnie Walker, Joshua Primo and Devin Vassell are all young backcourt and wing options for this team, which is why the San Antonio Spurs will likely be looking to address their frontcourt.

Jakob Poeltl’s future is definitely questionable given that teams have reached out to the Spurs in the past about possible trade opportunities involving him and while he has played well at the power-forward position, the Spurs would be much better off having Keldon Johnson at the small-forward position on the wing.

Thus, they have an opening for an impactful power-forward like Wendell Carter Jr. He would fit in well given his ability to be a factor in the low-post offensively, but it is much more likely that the Spurs will look to target some frontcourt talent in the NBA Draft rather than make a big trade.

The San Antonio Spurs have never really been known to get involved in big trades and they have built a reputation of building their cores through the draft, which is why they will likely look to do the same this upcoming offseason.
