Jerami Grant – Detroit Pistons

Just like he was at the trade deadline this season, Jerami Grant will be a highly pursued trade target once the offseason begins.

The Pistons ended up holding onto Grant at the deadline after not receiving the exact value that they wanted in a trade for the veteran forward, but now, Jerami Grant enters the offseason with just one more year left on his contract.

Set to be a free agent following the 2022-23 season, Jerami Grant’s overall value will decline after the 2022 NBA Draft, which is why the Pistons could very much look to trade him before or during the draft in the offseason.

The New York Knicks were a team that reached out to the Pistons in regards to Jerami Grant at the trade deadline and their interest in the wing could still exist.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Should Pelicans Consider Trading Zion Williamson In Offseason?

Since joining the Pistons ahead of the 2020-21 season, Jerami Grant has averaged 21.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and has shot 42.7% from the floor.

Proving to be a high-level two-way talent, Grant would fit in nicely with the Knicks and be a solid one-year replacement for Julius Randle until the team figures out their next steps as a franchise, most likely targeting 2023 free agency.

Along with a draft pick or two, a small, straight-up trade of Randle for Jerami Grant does make a little sense for the New York Knicks, that is if they are just looking to get out of Julius Randle’s contract in the offseason.
