Harrison Barnes – Sacramento Kings
The New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings have held trade discussions with one another in the past, most recently ahead of the trade deadline revolving around De’Aaron Fox.
Sacramento is no longer entertaining the idea of trading Fox, and they never really were in the first place, but they will enter the offseason looking to be “buyers” after adding Domantas Sabonis at the trade deadline.
Adding that third key star alongside Fox and Sabonis is going to be key for the Kings in the offseason, which is why Julius Randle could wind up being a sneaky trade target for him.
In an effort to land Randle from the Knicks, the Kings may not only offer up veteran wing Harrison Barnes but players like Richaun Holmes and Justin Holiday as well. The Kings also have numerous draft assets that they could part ways with to land Julius Randle in a trade from New York.

The Knicks will not be willing to swap Julius Randle for Harrison Barnes straight up and they are not actively going to be pursuing Harrison Barnes in a trade this offseason, but landing the veteran back in a package containing Holmes, Holiday and a draft pick as well is not that bad of a deal for New York.
Harrison Barnes is still a high-level contributor offensively on the wing and the best part about acquiring him from the Knicks’ perspective is that he is in the final year of his contract, freeing up roughly $20 million in cap space for the 2023 offseason.

Richaun Holmes would fill the void left behind by free agent Mitchell Robinson and Justin Holiday would help expand the Knicks shooting depth on the wing.
The New York Knicks would not be “targeting” Harrison Barnes per se, but he is not a bad player/contract to get back in a trade involving Julius Randle this offseason.
