Currently 25-years old, he fits the timeline as well because he is young enough to develop with the younger core but brings enough experience to help get the team over the hump sooner than later.
Donovan Mitchell is a three-level scorer and has come up in some big moments for the Utah Jazz in his career. He is averaging a career-high 5.3 assists this season, so playmaking is certainly something he is capable of doing.

The price to acquire him, however, is where it gets tricky. New York needs to do all it can to hold onto Barrett in these trade talks. Outside of him, virtually everyone else should be made available.
But, will Utah be willing to negotiate if RJ Barrett is off the table? He is likely the player that the Utah Jazz will demand in any trade negotiations, so the New York Knicks will have to drive a hard bargain to get a potential deal done.
