Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?

The Houston Rockets are rebuilding right now and while they have some young, impressive pieces in-place already, they need an identity moving forward. 

Christian Wood is not expected to be a long-term building block for this franchise since he will be in the final year of his contract next season and while Jalen Green possesses All-Star qualities to his game, the Rockets would benefit greatly by adding a two-way star in Ben Simmons. 

Getting a fresh start in Houston with a rebuilding, young team, Simmons could redefine what kind of player he is in this league, while continuing to find ways to improve offensively. 

Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green are a young, talented backcourt and putting Ben Simmons in the frontcourt, the Rockets would be a very young, agile and fast-paced team that could begin making some noise in the Western Conference.

Houston does not really have anything to lose by making this trade, especially since Wood and Gordon are likely gone anyways following the 2022-23 season.
