Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks (43-26) took on Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets (36-34) in part of the NBA Wednesday slate. Using a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer, the Mavs won 113-111.

Both teams took turns making runs throughout the flow of the game, but the Nets held a 14-point lead at one point in the fourth quarter and couldn’t hang on to win.

Luka Doncic finished with 37 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, but it was Spencer Dinwiddie who stole the show in the end with the buzzer-beating 3-pointer for the win. Dinwiddie chipped in 15 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, too.

Kevin Durant constantly was double-teamed in this game and finished with 23 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists, but did so with lesser efficiency than his typical standard.

Given was a Nets home game, Kyrie Irving will be allowed to attend as a fan, but not play in the game. Goran Dragic stepped into a larger role as a result. Irving dropped 60 points in their road win over the Orlando Magic, but again, he wasn’t eligible to play against the Mavericks.

In the Mavericks’ previous outing, they took down the scorching hot Boston Celtics in a 95-92 win at TD Garden in what was Kevin Garnett’s jersey retirement. Luka Doncic has been operating with precision throughout this season and will look to continue that against the Nets.

Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic each were coming off a sensational week that featured both of them earning the NBA Conference Player of the Week award. A head-to-head matchup between the two will be the top storyline.
