Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks (42-26) took on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors (46-22) in part of the Saturday NBA slate. It was the Dubs who came out on top with 122-109 being the final score.

While the Boston Celtics have caught much of the attention around the NBA for their elite level of play since the start of the new calendar year, the Milwaukee Bucks were thriving entering this game.

No team in the Eastern Conference had a longer active winning streak than the Bucks (6), or in the NBA as a whole. The team had reached second in the standings with a whole game lead over the Philadelphia 76ers before this loss.

The Golden State Warriors have started to show some signs of life having won their last two consecutive games. However, they still were just 3-7 in their last 10 games entering this game and were recently surpassed by the Memphis Grizzlies for the second spot in the Western Conference standings.

The Warriors opted to start Jordan Poole next to Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins. It sparked some big results as he scored 30 points alongside 38 from Klay Thompson and 21 from Stephen Curry.

Giannis Antetokounpmo finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in what was a struggling overall scoring night for his Bucks team.

Both the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors have a lot to play for in this one. With Draymond Green still sidelined, it will be fascinating to see how Giannis Antetokounmpo is guarded given the Dubs’ lack of ideal personnel to handle the task.
