Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets (34-33) took on Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers (40-25) in one of the two games involved in the Thursday NBA slate. It was the Nets who came out on top with 129-100 being the final score.

Much of the attention for this Nets vs 76ers matchup was placed on Ben Simmons sitting on the bench until the start of the game actually occurs. But, again, there was an actual basketball game that will be played.

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant continue to do what they can to carry this Brooklyn Nets team while they have the opportunity to play together on the road. This one quickly became a blowout with no turning back.

In this Nets vs 76ers matchup, Seth Curry stepped up in a major way to offer his best support and get revenge on the team that traded him. Durant (25), Curry (24), and Irving (22) each finished with 20+ points.

Joel Embiid was the top performer for the Philadelphia 76ers with 27 points and 12 rebounds, but he shot just 5-17 (29.4 percent) from the floor. He did most of his damage from the free throw line as he went 15-19 (78.9 percent) overall.

Perhaps most intriguing of all was supposed to be James Harden facing off against his former team after forcing his way out of town. He sorely struggled with just 11 points on 3-17 (17.6 percent) from the floor.
