Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
Pairing Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox together could turn out to be a terrific pairing for Sacramento to end their playoff drought, but that is not going to happen this season.
The addition of a third star could very well lift the Kings into the play-in tournament region of the Western Conference standings at the very least. The only problem though is that there will not be many big names available in free agency this offseason and no key free agents are going to want to go to Sacramento.
The only way for this team to get better immediately is to make a big trade by leveraging assets like Harrison Barnes, Justin Holiday and Richaun Holmes.
Julius Randle, while not the perfect target, would fit in well because he could play off of both De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

In New York, so much pressure has been put on Randle to do everything for the Knicks, which is why he has struggled at times. Leaning on Sabonis and Fox for support, Julius Randle could be the “bruiser-like” big man that he is and use his size and strength to his advantage to score on the offensive-side of the floor.
The Kings would suddenly have two elite-level rebounders on their team and one of the most explosive and quick scorers at the point guard position. Harrison Barnes is entering the final year of his contract and Richaun Holmes’ value has decreased a lot this season with the arrival of Sabonis, which is why this trade makes sense for the Kings.
