The Brooklyn Nets will travel to Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. The date Mar. 10 has been one many NBA fans have waited for in hopes that Ben Simmons will return to the lineup and play against his former team. What’s the latest on his status?

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there’s “no chance” that Ben Simmons plays in the Brooklyn Nets’ matchup vs the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.

“There’s tremendous urgency around the Nets to get Ben Simmons on the court, get him incorporated, and playing with this team. The Nets start a three-game road trip today against the Celtics. Simmons is going to join them at some point.

“The Nets’ hope is when Brooklyn gets back after Thursday’s game in Philly, Simmons at that point will be ready to start getting on the floor with his teammates, in creasing his workload and getting closer to returning.

“That back problem has been an issue for him since he’s tried to start ramping up. He’s essentially really just done individual work at their facility. They’re hoping by the end of this week, he’ll be able to do more.”

Simmons has not appeared in a single game this season but projects as being a critical element of what the Brooklyn Nets aim to accomplish both now and in the future. There are much bigger things to focus on than this 76ers vs Nets matchup for Simmons. However, he will be in attendance on the bench.
