Al Horford – Boston Celtics
The Celtics have long been a team rumored to be interested in Kevin Love and should they come up short of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals this season, they could feel entitled to look for a key scoring weapon on the bench.
Kevin Love ranks fourth in the NBA this season in points scored off-the-bench and with him proving that he has embraced his “sixth-man” role, Love could be a key bench scorer the Celtics are missing right now.
Al Horford has been consistent for them, but the Celtics would probably like to get out of his contract if possible in favor of someone who can contribute more minutes and scoring next season.
Entering the final year of his contract, Al Horford could be someone the Celtics look to move on from and with his contract being almost equal to that of Kevin Love’s, the Celtics and Cavaliers could be able to make a quick and painless offseason transaction.

Al Horford may not fit in with the Cavaliers’ system as well as Kevin Love, but he has been a steady veteran contributor this year in Boston and the Cavs may be able to get back some future value in this deal with Boston, as well as saving themselves just over $2 million in total payroll for the 2022-23 season.
Trading Love for Horford and a future second-round pick is not a terrible deal, especially since Al Horford has always made his impact felt defensively in the frontcourt.
