Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers
The dream scenario for the Philadelphia 76ers in a Ben Simmons-oriented trade this season was landing Damian Lillard from Portland. Obviously, this did not happen and the chances of it ever happening seemed slim to begin with.
However, Daryl Morey has proven that he is willing to constantly pursue that in which he wants, which could lead to trade conversations starting back up in the offseason in regards to the 76ers pursuing Damian Lillard.
The Trail Blazers traded Norman Powell, Robert Covington, and CJ McCollum at the trade deadline, entering what looks to be a multi-year rebuild process.
Lillard is now 31-years-old and with him still in the prime of his career, the six-time All-Star could ultimately decide one day in the offseason that he doesn’t want to be a part of a rebuilding team.

How Portland plays the rest of the year without him, as Lillard is recovering from abdominal surgery, will definitely play a role in his future plans. Not to mention, the potential moves the Blazers make in the offseason will also play a role in if Damian Lillard stays long-term.
Time and time again, Lillard has said that he is not leaving Portland and will be with the Trail Blazers long-term, so it is hard to imagine that he would suddenly leave and get traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.
This would be the dream scenario though for the 76ers in the offseason.
Pairing Damian Lillard with James Harden and Joel Embiid would create an unstoppable scoring trio in this league, instantly making the Philadelphia 76ers the best team in the league. This can work in NBA 2K, but Daryl Morrey can keep dreaming because Dame is not going anywhere anytime soon.
