Boston Celtics
Entering 2022, the Boston Celtics were 17-19 and the narrative surrounding them was if they would have what it takes to make it out of the play-in tournament in the Eastern Conference, assuming they could make the play-in tournament given all of their struggles!
Now, Boston finds themselves 34-26 on the season and they have won 11 of their last 13 games heading into the All-Star break. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are once again one of the best scoring duos in the entire NBA, however, the Celtics’ bench is still a mess.
After trading Dennis Schroder and Josh Richardson at the trade deadline this season, the Celtics did add a key secondary weapon in Derrick White, but their bench still ranks just 26th in the league in scoring.
Payton Pritchard, Aaron Nesmith and Grant Williams are not dependable scoring options, which is why the Celtics are expected to be aggressive in the buyout market over the next few weeks.

The Boston Celtics currently have three open roster spots as a result of the moves they made at the trade deadline this season and they could very well look to add a key talent in each area of the floor.
The need for a backup guard is relevant, the Celtics could use another scoring weapon on the wing and with Enes Freedom gone, Boston only has Al Horford, Daniel Theis, and Robert Williams in their frontcourt.
Boston currently finds themselves just 4.5 games out of first place in the Eastern Conference at the All-Star break, which is why it should not be surprising to see them be super aggressive in their hunt for more talent this season.

They certainly are not front-runners to make a deep playoff push this season, but the Boston Celtics could very well surprise many in the playoffs this season, especially if they add some of the better names in the buyout market.
