Gary Harris – Orlando Magic

Entering the trade deadline, the Orlando Magic were open to moving two veterans on their roster in Terrence Ross and Gary Harris. Both players remained on the Magic’s roster and while Ross is expected to be with the team through the end of the season, there are talks about Harris possibly being bought out of his contract.

At this point, it is unlikely that Gary Harris will be bought out seeing as he is in the final year of his contract and the Magic have no reason to want to free up a roster spot right now, but plenty of playoff contenders have begun to monitor Harris’ situation in Orlando.

Gary Harris was traded from the Nuggets to the Magic last season at the trade deadline in a package for Aaron Gordon. In 71 career games with the Magic, the veteran wing has played well, averaging 11.1 points, 2.1 assists and shooting 37.7% from three-point range.

Also showing that he can still defend at a moderately high-level, Gary Harris could instantly become a key rotational player for many teams in this league should he become a free agent in the coming weeks.

The Warriors have always put an emphasis on bench players who can fit a “3-and-D” mold on the perimeter, which is why Gary Harris would be a good fit in San Francisco.

At just 27-years-old, Gary Harris is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and is expected to draw a lot of interest from several playoff hopefuls on a small, mid-level exception-like contract.
