Make Changes To Broken Locker Room
Spencer Dinwiddie did not even make it out of Year 1 of his contract, Davis Bertans was only in Year 2 of his five-year, $80 million deal with Washington and the team also traded Montrezl Harrell at the trade deadline, who was in his first season with the team after being traded there in the offseason from Los Angeles.
The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor reported before the deadline that there were some uncertainties within the Wizards’ locker room about Spencer Dinwiddie’s leadership and Wizards’ guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope talked about “egos” clashing during the season following his team’s moves at the deadline.
There just seems to be no stability within the Wizards’ locker room right now and with a handful of young talents that are looking to find their footing in the league, it is hard to imagine that Washington has what it takes to be a real contender heading into next season.
Bradley Beal is a great player, but he alone cannot carry this team and the acquisition of Kristaps Porzingis is definitely a “yellow flag” for this franchise simply because of the injury concerns that dwell over his head.
