The Phoenix Suns made a surprise trip to the 2021 NBA Finals and appear to be in prime position to make it back. In order to maximize their chances, they could use a deal at the NBA trade deadline to add depth.

It’s been reported that Phoenix is looking to add more shooting depth at the NBA trade deadline. The Suns have received a struggling season from Landry Shamet since giving him a contract extension and the bench group lacks a needed shot creation presence.

Currently, the Suns rank fourth in the NBA in points per possession and are among the league’s best in many key categories. One area that could use improvement is spot-up shooting. Phoenix currently ranks 14th in efficiency in that category with a lot of reliance being placed on Cameron Johnson, Mikal Bridges, and Jae Crowder.

Gordon was recently linked to the Suns in NBA trade rumors ahead of the deadline. According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, Eric Gordon is viewed by Phoenix as a piece that can help them to return to the NBA Finals.
