Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G John Wall
Houston Rockets Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick

This would be what the trade would look like. Nothing complicated. Just a one-for-one deal with extra picks headed to the Houston Rockets. They would ship John Wall off to the Los Angeles Lakers and, in turn, get back Russell Westbrook.

Wall, as previously mentioned, hasn’t suited up this season for the Rockets.

That being said, he played fairly well for Houston last year. Wall put up 20.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists while shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from deep in 40 games last season.

The Lakers traded Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for Westbrook this past offseason. Not only that, but they made the deal instead of trading for Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield.

Westbrook hasn’t played super well this season, especially when looking at his shooting splits. The veteran point guard is putting up 18.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from deep.

This trade would be a mess for the Los Angeles Lakers, simply because they could have had Hield who would have been a much better fit on this Los Angeles team. That being said, maybe it’s time for the Lakers to bite the bullet and make a deal.
