Blockbuster Trade For Dallas Mavericks To Pursue
Dallas Mavericks Receive: C Myles Turner
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Josh Green, C Dwight Powell, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2022 Second-Round Pick
The Indiana Pacers are one team that looks like they will be aggressive as sellers ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Caris LeVert has already been moved to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the expectation is that Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner will be ‘prominent’ in trade talks, too.
The Mavericks could try and swing a deal for Sabonis, as he could help the team in their search for more playmaking outside of Luka Doncic. However, Dallas has been winning with high-level defense and Sabonis does not necessarily help those efforts but Myles Turner would get it done.
To land him, Dallas surrenders arguably their best young, trade asset in Josh Green, a first-round pick from the 2020 NBA Draft. For a team looking to rebuild on the fly, he could find consistent minutes on the wing with the Pacers.
Dwight Powell will help replace some of Turner’s minutes at the center spot as a stopgap option. Again, the main appeals of the deal would be Josh Green, who has shown more flashes as of late.

Indiana also cashes in with some draft capital, landing a 2025 first-round pick and a second-round pick. Next season, Powell’s contract will be an expiring deal and could be used later as an asset.
Indiana will receive plenty of strong offers for Turner, and to make their package stick out, the Mavericks have to surrender more draft capital as they cannot offer as intriguing of a package of players.
