Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Myles Turner
Indiana Pacers Receive: F/C P.J. Washington, C Mason Plumlee, Cap Filler, Future First-Round Pick
The Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets are seemingly heading in different directions after facing off in last year’s NBA Play-In Tournament. While the Pacers look to restock and rebuild, the Hornets are looking to push toward a playoff spot.
In this deal, the Hornets are going all-in on making a playoff push. The Hornets would need to send out about $200K more to make this deal work financially, so Nick Richards or Vernon Carey Jr. could also be included.
Myles Turner will help them immensely as they need all the help they can get defensively. There likely isn’t a more impactful defender available for in a trade than Turner is.
The Hornets own a first-round pick to the New York Knicks with some protections, so it could be a few drafts until that pick conveys. But, Indiana will be happy acquiring another pick, as they are always valuable assets to have.

P.J. Washington is the headliner in this deal for the Pacers. He has seen his role scaled back this season as Miles Bridges has exploded onto the scene, but at 23-years old is a great get for Indiana.
Mason Plumlee is included to help match salary but provides the Pacers with some good depth on the interior. He has experience starting or coming off the bench and could be flipped again down the road for more assets.
