1. Cleveland Cavaliers

There arguably isn’t a team that needs some help in the backcourt ahead of the deadline more than the Cleveland Cavaliers. They lost Collin Sexton to a meniscus injury early in the season and Ricky Rubio more recently tore his ACL.

That left the Cavaliers short-handed in the backcourt, as they traded for Rajon Rondo from the Los Angeles Lakers. Could they add another Lakers point guard to the mix down the road?

Westbrook would help compensate for the loss of Sexton and Rubio. While not the shooter that Sexton was, he would provide more playmaking alongside Darius Garland, who is blossoming into an All-Star. Westbrook doesn’t have the defensive impact of Rubio but brings veteran leadership and you know he is giving it 100 percent whenever he steps on the court.

The Cavaliers could use some experience in their lineup. Eight players in their rotation right now are 26-years of age or younger. Bringing in a veteran such as Westbrook could benefit those youngsters, as long as he buys into a role.

Cleveland has found a way to succeed despite many people questioning their spacing, so they should be able to find a role that works for Westbrook. As one of the most dominant defensive teams in the NBA as well, the Cavaliers would be in a position to compensate for Westbrook on that end of the court, too.
