Would this trade make sense for the Brooklyn Nets?
When trading away a superstar, it’s rare for a team to be in a position to be contenders who already have two other superstars to rely on like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The Brooklyn Nets are in that unique position could actually use role players in return for depth.
Landing a wing player like Andrew Wiggins would bring a different style on the wing for the Nets. He has developed his overall game nicely during his time with the Golden State Warriors but could lean more on his time as a focal point with the Minnesota Timberwolves when playing without Durant or Irving.
The Nets would need for James Wiseman to get healthy as soon as possible to provide a boost to their frontcourt. Jonathan Kuminga can step in and bring athleticism on the wing alongside Wiggins and play through mistakes during home games while Durant is sidelined.
When both Durant and Irving are able to play, Wiggins would be able to fill a more complementary role by providing a two-way impact. It’s hard to find impact players on the wing and having the option to add one would go a long way in sustaining the Nets in this current era.
