Los Angeles Clippers
It is a long-shot to believe that the Clippers will be “buyers” instead of “sellers” at the NBA trade deadline, but this is a team that has been on the search for a point guard and could look to sneak in an addition to their roster at the deadline.
Finding another guard to pair Reggie Jackson with is vital for the Clippers and while Paul George and Kawhi Leonard may be out for the rest of the season, Los Angeles has already started to turn their attention to being contenders once again during the 2022-23 season.
Rockets’ John Wall continues to be a potential target for the Clippers, as is Mavericks’ Jalen Brunson, but Spencer Dinwiddie should not be crossed off Los Angeles’ list of potential targets yet because they pursued him this past offseason.
Prior to Dinwiddie getting shipped to the Wizards in a sign-and-trade deal, the Clippers were in contact with the Nets on a potential sign-and-trade deal that would send Spencer Dinwiddie to Los Angeles. No major trade scenario ever developed for the Clippers, hence why he was ultimately traded to Washington.

Spencer Dinwiddie has had trouble as a scoring weapon with the Wizards, but he is averaging 5.9 assists per game this season and would not have to be a primary weapon for this Clippers team like he currently is in position to be with the Wizards.
When Paul George and Kawhi Leonard return, Dinwiddie would be looked at as a secondary contributor and a primary facilitator for this team, allowing him to really take advantage of some weaker matchups with all the attention being focused on the Clippers’ stars.

Next to Reggie Jackson in the backcourt, Spencer Dinwiddie could really thrive in a role similar to what he held with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2019-20 season, a season in which Dinwiddie put up borderline All-Star numbers.
