Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Kemba Walker, G Evan Fournier, G Alec Burks
New York Knicks Receive: G Russell Westbrook, C DeAndre Jordan, G Wayne Ellington, 2027 First-Round Pick (Lottery Protected)
In an NBA trade idea floated by ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the New York Knicks would land Russell Westbrook in a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers at the NBA trade deadline.
Along with Westbrook, the Knicks would land DeAndre Jordan, Wayne Ellington, and a lottery-protected 2027 first-round pick to add some additional value into the mix.
The Lakers would take back Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, and Alec Burks in order to part with Westbrook. There would be a greater commitment of long-term salary but would reduce the short-term implications.
There isn’t time for the Lakers to waste with LeBron James’ championship window. He’s already facing knee issues that continue to keep him sidelined as it is. If something isn’t going to work, there needs to be a real effort to shake things up as soon as possible.
