Would this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?
The Orlando Magic have been interested in selling recently. They have built through the draft and still have some veteran pieces to send away. This begins with Mo Bamba and continues with Terrence Ross. If there is a list made, Bamba has to be at the top because of his situation.
Bamba was a prospect with a high ceiling coming into the league. He was a prototypical stretch four that could step out and shoot or compete down low as a legitimate seven-footer.
Because of injuries, Bamba was unable to take the next step but has a chance to take on an extended role with another team. This would help the Magic because they would not have to make the qualifying offer and have a chance to get something back for Bamba.
This would be a salary dump with Olynyk coming back, who could be flipped in another deal or waived. Lyles could provide a down low presence and a draft pick is always valuable to a rebuilding team.

When looking at the possibilities, it is unlikely that the Magic will get much more for Bamba. They should take the best offer and the Detroit Pistons might be able to provide this.
