Would this trade make sense for the Phoenix Suns?

There’s a lot to like about the idea of the Phoenix Suns making a deal to acquire Eric Gordon at the NBA trade deadline. The team with the league’s best record continuing to improve by adding an intriguing threat like Gordon

The Suns would essentially be parting with a lot of spare parts and a future first-round pick in an effort to add that ‘missing piece’ they hope could be the difference-maker in a lengthy playoff run. It never hurts to make the most of a title window and acquiring Gordon would certainly help in doing so.

There already is pre-existing familiarity between Gordon and Chris Paul from their mutual time together as members of the Rockets. Both were competing alongside each other to make it out of the Western Conference but ran into the Golden State Warriors buzzsaw with Kevin Durant.

Gordon would bring a helpful mix of spot-up shooting and rim pressure attacking off the catch along with using ball screens and DHOs. He’s another isolation threat to attack favorable matchups after switches, too.
