What Kind Of “All-In” Trade Could Washington Wizards Make?
The desire to add another star player to their roster remains high in Washington and according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Wizards could target Pacers’ All-Star Domantas Sabonis and Pistons’ forward Jerami Grant over the next week ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
Domantas Sabonis has found himself a part of multiple trade rumors in recent weeks given the Pacers’ struggles this season and Washington certainly has the assets that the Pacers would want in return. It is said that Indiana wants a “Nikola Vucevic-sized” trade package of two first-round picks and young talents for Domantas Sabonis, something that the Wizards have.
Washington has an obligation to trade their 2023 first-round pick to Oklahoma City via Houston with Top-14 protections on it, meaning that the earliest first-round pick that they could trade away would be in 2025. However, Rui Hachimura, Corey Kispert, Deni Avdija and Kyle Kuzma are all young talents that the Pacers have shown interest over the years both in trades and through the NBA Draft.
Packaging two or three of these players together, along with two future first-round picks in 2025 and 2027 could be of interest to the Indiana Pacers given their need to go through some kind of a rebuild.

The same kind of package could be offered to the Pistons too for Jerami Grant given that the Pistons are one of the youngest rebuilding teams in the league right now. Assuming Jerami Grant would be willing to commit to the Wizards past next season, he would definitely be another high-level talent that could be special next to Bradley Beal.
If Washington is to make a move at the NBA trade deadline, it will most likely be a big one. They are in no position to try and acquire role players simply because they are not a playoff team at this point.
