The Sacramento Kings are well on their way to setting a dubious NBA record that they want no part of possessing. They have missed the playoffs 15-straight years, which is tied with the LA Clippers franchise. That looks like a record they are going to have all to themselves come the end of the 2021-22 season.
Sacramento is currently 18-34 and riding a seven-game losing streak. There doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel, but despite all of the ineptitude they have shown this season, they are somehow still only 3.5 games out of a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Desperate to snap their streak, the Kings have been scouring the trade market for upgrades to help them make the postseason. No matter how slim their hopes look to be right now, all it takes is one move and a shake-up of the roster to kick things into gear and go on a run.
Until they are mathematically eliminated from the postseason, the Kings will do everything in their power to qualify. With the trade deadline days away, they will make plenty of calls to bring that difference maker in.
