DJ Augustin

DJ Augustin is currently in his first year with the Houston Rockets but this tenure should not be a long one. The Rockets need to rebuild and Augustin is the veteran option that should be moved at the deadline. He is the perfect bench piece for a team like the Golden State Warriors.

Golden State has always featured a backup point guard that can provide valuable minutes in the middle of games. Shaun Livingston comes to mind immediately. Augustin would fill that role.

He is shooting 40.6% from three-point range this season. This is the best part of his game and that fits the bill for Golden State. Augustin is playing just 15.1 minutes per game so his role is bound to go up in Golden State.

This would be a spark off the bench for a team that likes to have the necessary depth come the postseason.

Augustin would not be the big-slash move that the Warriors might be looking for but he is a strong veteran presence who could help on both ends. Because of Augustin’s ability from deep, he will be a valuable piece for a win-now team.
