The Pistons still have leverage and that is why I trade this is makes sense, not to mention the fact that they are not a win-now team. The Mavericks are hoping to turn into that and Grant would help.
Since going to Detroit, Grant has shown that he can be an authentic powerhouse. He has taken over as the focal point of the offenses and has put up the biggest scoring numbers of his career.
Dallas, has shooting issues from three-point range would be welcomed but he would not be asked to do too much offensively. This would help on the defensive end as well. Grant is one of the true three-and-D players in the league and knows how to use his legs to succeed.
