Would this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
This may seem like a weird fit for the Philadelphia 76ers. Pairing Joel Embiid with another big man is probably not what they had in mind. But with Simmons’ trade value tanking by the day, this is probably one of the best offers they will get in terms of pure talent.
We’ve seen multiple super-talented big men play with each other before. Most recently, the New Orleans Pelicans paired Anthony Davis with prime DeMarcus Cousins. On a larger, more successful scale, the San Antonio Spurs won a title with Tim Duncan and David Robinson.
Embiid and Sabonis are both fully capable of playing on the perimeter, so when one is out there, the other can be dominating the paint. Sabonis would also help replace some of Simmons’ playmaking abilities, albeit, he’d do most damage from the post.
As for Caris LeVert, he’d give the Sixers a nice scoring punch either in the starting lineup or off the bench. He’s the type of guy that can find success in any spot and in any situation he’s put in. Those extra 15-20 points a night would give Philly a huge boost.

All three of the players the Sixers would get back would immediately be able to give them rotational minutes. They’d be getting an All-Star, an elite sixth-man type wing, and a veteran two-way player. That’s quite the haul.
