Would this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?
For the Dallas Mavericks, this would definitely be interesting. Recent reports have revealed that they think they can re-sign Jalen Brunson this offseason, but this isn’t a terrible package to get in return if they did decide that they wanted to trade him.
As mentioned, Kemba Walker might be a bit inconsistent, but his numbers this year aren’t actually that bad. He could step in as a short-term backup point guard on the Mavericks. But he’s certainly not the focal point of this trade.
Mitchell Robinson would be a huge pickup for the Mavs, especially considering how log-jammed the New York Knicks frontcourt rotation is. Moving to Dallas could give Robinson the chance to have a bigger role, but more importantly, play with Luka Doncic.
He would be a great lob threat for Doncic to play with, and his rim protection would look great next to Kristaps Porzingis. Just like Brunson, he would need to be re-signed at the end of the season, but getting a young, athletic center could be a nice addition.

Getting a young, potential-filled scorer in Quentin Grimes would also be an underrated move for the Mavs. Throw in two second-round picks, and this trade isn’t too bad, especially considering the fact that re-signing Robinson probably wouldn’t cost as much as re-signing Brunson.
