2. Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are not far off from being contenders in the Eastern Conference again. Many believed they could be heading toward a rebuild this offseason when the most decorated player in franchise history, Kyle Lowry, moved on in free agency.

Some even hypothesized that Pascal Siakam could be on the move after, especially after the team used the No. 4 overall pick on Scottie Barnes, who played the same position.

Toronto made a rare error not trading Lowry at the deadline, but it has not hurt them too much. They have a strong core and great future with the roster they have put together. If they want to make a win-now move, they have the pieces to do so.

Anthony Davis would fill some holes on the roster. The frontcourt remains an issue, especially the center position.

It is anyone’s guess if Davis is in their budget, as the Raptors may not want to surrender that many assets. However, we have seen them be aggressive in the past if they believe the move can help them win, as they took a chance on Kawhi Leonard and it resulted in a championship.

Would the Los Angeles Lakers want Pascal Siakam in return as the centerpiece of the package? Or would they break up the return, maybe going for OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr. or Fred VanVleet? Would the Raptors make Barnes available as the centerpiece of a deal?

There are numerous options the Raptors could use to build a competitive offer for Davis.
