Would this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?
The New Orleans Pelicans have a strong duo but they have been unable to take any step toward competing in the Western Conference.
Zion Williamson has struggled to stay on the court and it is yet another failed season in New Orleans. After years of trying to build around two players, the Pelicans need to head in another direction and that is what they would be doing here.
New Orleans made a deal for Devonte’ Graham in the offseason. This was supposed to solidify the point guard position moving forward This is clearly a goal of the front office and they would be able to do just that with Sexton.
He would provide another threat at the top of the offense. Markkanen would fit well with Williamson because of their skill sets. When looking at the return, the Pelicans would get two big-time producers to go along with draft capital. This should be what the franchise is looking for when they decide to make moves to improve.
