Would this trade make sense for the Cleveland Cavaliers?

This trade would show that the Cleveland Cavaliers believe in what they are building. Brandon Ingram would solidify the young core that is in place while also trying to win right away. The addition of Ingram would also help on the offensive end and this should be the immediate intrigue.

Cleveland continues to be one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. They are allowing just 102.3 points per contest, which is second-best in the NBA. Offensively, the Cavaliers score 107.0 points per game. This is 23rd in the league and while the point differential is still in their favor, there are improvements to be made.

Ingram is not an elite defender but he would not hurt Cleveland on that end of the floor. The benefit would be huge offensively as Cleveland heads into the second half of the season.

Garland and Mobley have looked like the real deal while Allen is living up to his $100 million contract. The future is bright in Cleveland and Ingram is on the same path as the rest of the core with the Cavs.

Looking to the trade deadline, anything is possible. It is unknown if Ingram is truly available but if he is, Cleveland should be one of the first teams on the phone.
