Does this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
Giving up on Evan Fournier this early on into his contract may be foolish seeing as he is an elite perimeter player offensively, but Caris LeVert is a much better all-around offensive player in the Knicks system.
Not only can he be a primary ball-handler for this team, taking a lot of pressure off of Julius Randle, but LeVert offers a little bit more hope on the defensive-end of the floor than that of Fournier on the wing.
Being a gifted scorer with the ball in his hands and being able to attack the rim, the Knicks could really open things up offensively for themselves, especially since Julius Randle and RJ Barrett are also two gifted scorers on the drive.
The Knicks’ lack of success this season is directly because of their inefficiencies on the offensive-end of the floor and the only way for them to get better is to take chances in trades leading up to the trade deadline.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Knicks Could Trade For Caris LeVert After Cam Reddish Deal
Cam Reddish will ultimately prove useful when they integrate him into their system and the addition of Caris LeVert would only make the Knicks better offensively. Losing a first-round pick in 2022 would hurt the Knicks in the long-term, but LeVert is only 27-years-old and someone New York can build with moving forward.
