Would this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?
This is not the first time that the Boston Celtics have been linked to John Collins. They were interested in the forward at last year’s trade deadline but the Atlanta Hawks wanted to keep him around and sign him in the offseason. That is what happened but he is now on the trading block once again.
Boston is one of the best landing spots for Collins. This would create a trio of stars that could help improve the Celtics right away. That is what the team needs after yet another lackluster start.
Collins has turned into an offensive dynamo that can do many things on both ends. He is expensive but the cost is worth it because of his versatility. This is the first year of his five-year deal which means there is plenty of team control.
Collins fits well with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in terms of the timeline for Boston and their overall skill set. When looking at what the Celtics would have to give up, this trade is a no-brainer.

John Collins could be paired with Williams in the frontcourt and bring balance on both ends. Brad Stevens needs to hit a home run in free agency to save the season after the first half they had.
